BRITAIN'S TRADE DEFICIT SOARS TO THREE-YEAR HIGH IN OCTOBER LONDON - Britain's global trade deficit soared to 1.66 billion pounds in October, from 972 million the month before, marking the biggest shortfall for nearly three years, official figures showed Wednesday. The figure was sharply above analysts' expectations of around 1.4 billion pounds. The Central Statistics Office (CSO) said October's deficit was the biggest monthly shortfall since December 1992.
