PRAGUE INFLATION CZECHED IN LAST YEAR AT 9.1 PERCENT PRAGUE - The Czech Republic recorded inflation of 9.1 percent last year, almost one percent less than the 10 percent noted for the previous year, the National Statistics Office announced on Tuesday. The office added that prices had risen in December by 0.5 percent from the November level. In a recent interview, czech prime minister Vaclav Klaus said that his staff expected inflation to run between 7 and 9 percent this year, while the economy will grow by 5 percent in real terms against about 4 percent last year. see next page >>>
