The palestinians have taken their case to the United Nations after Israel confiscated 53 hectares in Jerusalem at the end of April. However 58 percent backed US congressional moves to transfer the american embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, which Israel has declared its united capital despite palestinian demand to share the holy city- Only 35 percent opposed the transfer and seven percent gave no opinion. The israeli and US governments fear such a transfer well spark massive arab protests and irreparably damage peace negotiations. The dahaf poll institute questioned 500 israelis this week for the survey which has an error margin of four percent. see next page >>>
